Aaron Rodgers’ Teammates Sent A Clear Message Yesterday

Aaron Rodgers remains away from the Green Bay Packers, though it’s pretty clear that his teammates continue to have his back.

Tuesday, several Packers players met with the media and, unsurprisingly, they were asked about the ongoing drama with their star quarterback.

Green Bay’s players sent a clear message on the subject: They have Rodgers’ back.

Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams sent the most blunt message on the subject.

“I’ve got his back through everything so he knows that, at the end of the day, if there’s ever a wonder if he’s lost a teammate or something because of all that’s come out, he knows where I stand,” Adams said.

“I’ll stand on the f–king mountain and scream on the mountaintop that I’ve got his back.”

Another Packers veteran, offensive tackle David Bakhtiari, had a similar message.

“I’ve definitely voiced to him, I’m like, ‘You know what, whatever happens, look, it’s out of my control [and] the situation is between you and the organization, and that’s where it’s going to stay,’ ” he said.

“‘I don’t want to, at all, in any time, get in the middle of that. I respect you as a friend and however that turns out, I’m not going to take anything personally.’ “

Rodgers, meanwhile, did not report to mandatory minicamp. It’s unclear if he ever plans on returning to Green Bay.

“With my situation, look it’s never been about the draft pick, picking Jordan,” Rodgers told Kenny Mayne. “I love Jordan; he’s a great kid. [We’ve had] a lot of fun to work together. Love the coaching staff, love my teammates, love the fan base in Green Bay. An incredible 16 years. It’s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It’s about character, it’s about culture, it’s about doing things the right way.”

The question, of course, is can this be fixed?

Rodgers and the Packers are about two months away from beginning the regular season. Everyone in Green Bay obviously hopes that Rodgers will be under center when that happens. However, that is very much up in the air right now.
